Now, what about Ryujin’s strength compared to an S-rank adventurer? Is he strong enough to win against an S-rank, considered to be at the God Level?
Ryujin's adventurer rank is still F, so his strength can't be measured by rank. However, there is no doubt that his abilities surpass those of an A-rank.
Incidentally, Catherine was a former A-rank adventurer, but her level was around 55. She was considered somewhat low for an A-rank, but she was highly valued for her information gathering skills and other non-combat abilities. Still, from the perspective of an ordinary adventurer, her abilities were undeniably beyond human.
Even Catherine couldn't match Ryujin.
Ryujin previously won a sparring match against Reynard, the Sword Saint. Reynard was not active as an adventurer, so he didn't have an official adventurer rank, but his level was around 130. S-ranks are said to be at level 100 or higher. In other words, Ryujin could definitely win against an S-rank…
However, Ryujin has a cheat ability called Level Change. He has been fighting at level 1 all the time because he hasn't needed to level up. The first time he needed to level up was during his sparring match against Reynard. Even then, he overpowered Reynard at level 3.
He once tried to confirm the upper limit of his level in the depths of a dungeon. Even after reaching level 1000, his level continued to rise, and in the end, the limit was unknown.
Note: Since he is a dragonkin, his level is not equal to that of humans. Comparing him to Reynard’s level and abilities, we can estimate that Ryujin’s level 1 is equivalent to 40-60 times the level of a human. Assuming it is 50 times, then level 1000 would be equivalent to 50,000 human levels. If Ryujin was serious and unleashed his abilities, he could even split this planet…
Of course, Ryujin's level and human levels can’t be equated so simply. Also, even if Ryujin didn’t use level-up and was slightly lower in level, he would usually win easily by using spacetime magic, so there is almost no need for Ryujin to use his Level Change ability.
Frankly, there is no opponent on this planet that Ryujin could not beat if he got serious. The power he wished for from the goddess, "To be undefeated," had been granted to him.
If he used that power, humanity on this planet might be wiped out. Ryujin questioned her about the potential danger, but the goddess’ response was that she didn’t care if that happened.
Apparently, she had already prepared a world for the reincarnation of all the creatures in this world. In other words, she didn’t seem to care much if all the humans and living things in this world were wiped out.
Maybe this world was just a discard that she was waiting to get rid of? It's no wonder that there are so many awful humans here.
Well, whatever. This power was likely a one-time bonus stage for his life in this world.
Ryujin himself expects to be reborn into a normal world again if he dies.
Since he had received this bonus, where he could live freely, he decided to make the most of it, even if it was a harsh world. Ryujin wanted to have as much freedom as possible, even if it was only for a short time.
Batt: "But you’re amazing. Even though you're a wanted man, you’re still eating out in public."
Ryuu: "Wanted?"
Batt: "I was surprised when I received the request from the palace. They were asking for A-rank or higher adventurers to capture just an F-rank adventurer."
Apparently, they had issued multiple requests to several A-rank adventurers, letting them compete to see who would finish the task first. It was a success-based reward, so whoever succeeded would get the reward, and those who failed would not get paid. However, they wouldn't have to pay the penalty for failing if someone succeeded.
This type of success-based reward would usually be unwelcome, but because the reward was high, everyone had accepted.
Batt: "I'm not broke, so I don’t care about the reward, but the huge gap between an F-rank and an A-rank made me curious. I came to see what you were like."
Ryuu: "You’re out of luck. I'm level 1, magicless, and an F-rank adventurer. It's boring, right? You can go home after seeing me."
At that moment, Batt's eyes lit up with a unique light. It seemed he had the appraisal skill.
Batt: "Hmm, I see. But a skilled hawk hides its claws. I can't believe you're a truly incompetent, perennial F-rank. It's strange... I'm even more interested now. I’ll keep an eye on you for a while."
Ryuu: "Stalkers are a nuisance."
Ryujin started thinking about teleporting this guy somewhere if he became too bothersome.
He was an S-rank adventurer, so he was likely very skilled. It would be fine to send him to the bottom of a dungeon, but it would be troublesome if he somehow defeated the hydra. If he killed the dungeon boss, Ryujin would have to give up the dungeon core or fight him directly if he didn’t want to.
So, what about teleporting him somewhere far away instead? He knew of a vast ocean on the far side of the world through his divine eyes. If he sent him to the other side of the ocean, he probably wouldn't die, even if he was an S-rank, but he wouldn't be able to come back for a while.
While he was thinking about this, the door to the diner opened and a few men rushed in, surrounding Ryujin and Batt.
Ryuu: "Who are you?"
Ignoring Ryujin's question, one of the men who had entered spoke.
Man: "You’re Batt, the S-rank… Just making sure, but why are you here?"
Batt: "I think we have the same goal."
Man: "So you received the request too! It's a pretty hefty reward for capturing an F-rank. It's easy money!"
Batt: "Don’t worry. I'm not in it for the money. I'm not interested in someone you guys can handle."
Man: "Is that true? Don’t think you can just keep the money later."
Ryuu (whispering): "You guys don’t seem to have any business with me. I’ll be going..."
Since he finished eating, Ryujin decided to quietly leave his seat.
The men sat in the empty seats.
Man: "So, where is the target? Did you find him yet?"
Batt: "It’s only fair to find him yourself."
Man: "Tsk."
But then, the diner owner's words reached the men’s ears.
Ryuu: "Thanks for the meal. The money is here."
Owner: "Oh, Ryujin. Thanks for coming."
Man: "…I remember. The target is named Ryujin. They call him Ryuu, right? I see, so you've already found him."
The man smiled, then stood up.
Batt shrugged as he watched the men leave the shop, following Ryujin.
Batt: "Now, what will Ryujin do?"
