Chapter 138: An Empty Ryujeen Wants to Travel

After that, the coronation ceremony was held smoothly, and Sophie was officially crowned Queen.

Marquez became the second in line to inherit the throne and would support Sophie in the future. Marquez, one year younger than Sophie, was the third son of Duke Joldo, making him Sophie's cousin.

However, there was some concern about making Marquez the Duke. Some argued that the Duke's family should be abolished because he had assassinated the King.

But Sophie and Marquez were the only remaining members of the royal bloodline. They couldn't let the royal bloodline die out. Besides, there were some who argued that it was unfair for the children to be held accountable for the misdeeds of their parents.

The idea of letting him inherit the title with the condition that the Duke's family be cleansed was also considered. There must have been some servants and vassals who had actively participated in Joldo's crimes. They needed to investigate thoroughly and purge the family of corruption.

But that would be a difficult job for the young Marquez. It was decided that it would be better to abolish the Duke's family completely and start anew to prevent future problems.

However, they couldn't make Marquez step down. Sophie needed his help, as he was her only remaining relative. So, it was decided that he would marry into the royal family and become Sophie's brother-in-law. They had been close cousins, so it wasn't a bad arrangement.

The former Chancellor, who had been dismissed by the Duke, and the vassals who had supported King Largo were also recalled. The kingdom was still in turmoil, but the Chancellor had gathered talented subordinates and nobles during his dismissal, so they seemed to be on track to get things back to normal.

The Royal Knights, who had been sent to the border, were also recalled. Reynard became the commander of the kingdom's knights and would support Sophie.

Incidentally, Wald was said to have been unaware of the King's assassination, but he was punished with lifelong slavery for attempting to kill Sophie, even if it was under his employer's orders. He should have been executed, but Reynard, who thought his swordsmanship was too valuable to waste, defended him, saving him from the death penalty. It seems he would be working as a slave swordsman for the knights for the rest of his life.

However, upon hearing that he would be able to participate in the knights' training and receive swordsmanship lessons from Reynard, Wald didn't seem too upset. He was eager to surpass the Sword Saint someday. Apparently, he was simply a sword-fighting fool.

Ryujeen also worried that it was dangerous to keep Wald, who had once pointed his sword at the royal family, even if it was under the Duke's orders, alive, considering his lack of morals.

Some vassals argued that Wald should be prevented from ever wielding a sword again. But Reynard confidently stated:

"I will take responsibility for him. Don't worry, Wald won't be able to defeat me even if he lives to be a hundred, so it's fine."

So, they decided to leave him in his care.

It seemed that Reynard liked Wald for some reason. Perhaps because they shared the same passion for swords, Ryujeen thought.

Ryujeen himself, although Sophie had asked him, had no interest in getting involved in the country's administration. He wanted to go on a journey to see the world.

He simply hated being restrained. He had no idea what he would do in the future. When he was in Mimir, he had been focused on finding happiness because of his difficult upbringing, but Mimir was gone now. His entire history in this world, the past fifteen years, had disappeared. But he had gained the ability to live freely, a cheat power.

He had said he wanted to live freely, but he had no specific purpose or goal for the future. Ryujeen felt empty, but he decided to travel the world before thinking about the future. He still didn't know anything about this world. Perhaps he would find something important to him during his journey.

But he had something he needed to do before that.

It was about his revenge against the country that had invaded.
