"Where... where am I?!" Goji exclaimed, his voice trembling.
"You're in a dungeon," Ryujin replied, his voice as calm as ever. "It's a place where we won't be disturbed."
As soon as they left the guild, Ryujin had used his "Spatial Transfer" ability to teleport them both into the dungeon.
Ryujin had received the blessing of the "Space-Time God" when he was reborn, granting him the ability to manipulate space-time. However, space-time magic was considered nothing more than a legendary myth in this world. "Spatial Transfer" was a technique whispered to have been used by ancient mages, but it was believed to be lost to time.
Goji was completely dumbfounded, having no idea what had happened.
Ryujin suddenly extended his right hand towards Goji's forehead, and in the next instant, Goji was sent flying backward.
Ryujin had delivered a powerful forehead-tap, or as they say in Japan, a "Dekopin."
It was just a simple tap, but it felt as if he had been struck by a blunt weapon.
Goji stumbled back to his feet, groaning in pain, and immediately lunged at Ryujin with a punch. He was tough and quick to react. Ryujin realized Goji was truly a veteran C-Rank adventurer.
However, Goji's punch missed its target, and Ryujin's fist slammed into Goji's stomach. The force of the blow caused Goji to double over in pain.
"You... you really are Ryujin...?" Goji gasped, his eyes wide with disbelief.
Ryujin followed up with a swift kick to Goji's face.
Goji went flying backward again, but he rolled to his feet and pulled out his sword. He had managed to block Ryujin's kick with his arm.
"You're making a big mistake! I'll kill you!" Goji threatened.
But in that instant, Ryujin vanished.
Goji turned around frantically, only to find Ryujin standing beside him, his hand gripping Goji's sword-wielding wrist.
Goji struggled, but his arm wouldn't budge.
Then...
"Aaahhhh!"
Goji screamed in agony as Ryujin crushed his wrist.
"First, I need to repay you for leaving me behind during the raid," Ryujin said, his voice devoid of emotion.
He continued to hold Goji's crushed wrist, swinging it back and forth as if it were a broken toy.
"Uhhh..." Goji whimpered, his face contorted in pain.
"And there was also that time you took my money, right? I need to make things right."
Goji was notorious for bullying Ryujin. He had attacked Ryujin, beaten him half to death, and stolen his money when they were returning from a failed quest.
(Of course, Ryujin had reported the incident to the guild, but he was dismissed, as they claimed there was no evidence.)
"I... I... I'll pay you back! I'll give you all my money! Please forgive me!" Goji begged, his words jumbled in pain and confusion.
"You think forgiveness is enough?" Ryujin sneered.
Ryujin cast a healing spell, and Goji's crushed wrist was instantly restored.
Goji felt a wave of relief, but his reprieve was short-lived.
Ryujin crushed his wrist again.
Then, Ryujin healed it again.
"You also left me with a severed leg during the dungeon raid," Ryujin reminded him.
Goji looked at him, his face frozen in terror.
"Three times..." "Oh, I’m sorry! I’ll apologize! I’ll pay you! Please forgive me! Aaaahhh!" Goji screamed.
"I don't think so," Ryujin replied.
For the third time, Ryujin crushed Goji's wrist, leaving it broken and dangling.
Goji tried to back away, his broken wrist throbbing in pain.
"You can't escape."
Goji tried to kick Ryujin, but his foot was caught and crushed in the same way as his wrist.
He was crushed, healed, then crushed again. Ryujin repeated this cycle, leaving his wrists and ankles broken to prevent him from escaping.
“I... I’m so sorry... I’ll apologize... Please forgive me... I’ll beg for mercy…”
Goji cried, his bladder finally giving way, wetting his pants.
"Gross... Wait, that's it!"
Ryujin had an idea. He extended his hand towards empty space and clenched his fist. At the same time, Goji's leg bones were crushed.
Ryujin used his space-time magic to manipulate the space around Goji. He had created a small, isolated sub-space around Goji's leg and then shrunk it, crushing the bone within.
He had tried it out of curiosity, and it worked perfectly.
Since the object was confined to a space that was itself being deformed, its form was inevitably distorted, no matter how strong it was.
This method was clean too; he didn't need to touch Goji directly.
Goji was petrified, having no idea what was happening.
Ryujin closed his fist again.
"Uwaaaahhhh!"
Goji doubled over in pain as Ryujin crushed his groin.
Of course, he immediately healed Goji with a healing spell.
And then, Goji screamed again.
"Please... I beg you... I’m sorry... Forgive me..."
Goji begged for mercy, but Ryujin couldn't forgive him so easily. He had been bullied and nearly killed by Goji.
An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, a death for a death...
