Ryu: "Alright then."

Following Rodan's challenge, Ryu straightforwardly launched his attack.

In the blink of an eye, Rodan's left arm was severed from his bicep and flew through the air.

Duke: "R-Rodan!!"

His left arm had been cut off, and blood was spurting out. But even with his remaining arm, Rodan didn't let go of his sword and didn't lose his stance. He had a surprisingly strong spirit.

Ryu continued to approach Rodan.

Duke: "Enough, stop!"

But his voice was a little too late, as Ryu's sword swung again, severing Rodan's remaining arm and sending it falling to the floor.

Ryu looked at the Duke, shrugged his shoulders.

The Duke tried to rush to Rodan's side, but Ryu raised his hand to stop him, and as promised, he restored Rodan's body.

Prince Rezild: "That's amazing. He can use healing magic. Even to reattach severed limbs..."

Rodan stood up, staggered towards his father, the Duke, who caught him.

Duke: "You dare… to my son?! Wald! You do it! Kill him if you have to!"

The knight who had been standing behind the Duke stepped forward.

Ryu looked at Rezild and said:

Ryu: "...Can I kill him?"

Prince Rezild: "No, please, not the life…"

Wald: "Don't worry, I won't take his life. But don't expect things to go the same way as before?"

Wald drew his sword, and Ryu took a stance.

Wald: "I've seen your power now. I see, you're no match for someone like Lord Rodan. But that won't work against me."

Ryu appraised the knight in front of him. His level was…

…a staggering 70!

He was quite something. As an adventurer, he would be an A-Rank, even a top-class one.

Rodan: "Wald can do it! Finish him off!"

Duke: "Wald is a master swordsman who surpasses even the Sword Saint."

Hearing this, Wald said to Reynard:

Wald: "After I take care of this man, could you spar with me? I will defeat the Sword Saint and take his title for myself."

Reynard: "There's no need. I fought the man standing there, Ryujeen, and I lost. If you can defeat Ryujeen, you can have the title of Sword Saint."

Wald: "What?!"

Wald's eyes widened as he turned to face Ryujeen.

Wald: "You lost to this guy? It seems the Sword Saint was not that strong after all. Don't worry, I'll take the title of Sword Saint properly, so rest assured."

Wald charged at Ryujeen, launching a swift attack. Ryu blocked him with his sword.

The attack was incredibly fast. An ordinary swordsman would have been cut in two.

But Ryu had realized that he couldn't underestimate this opponent and had already activated Acceleration, so he was able to block the attack with ease.

Wald: "Hmm, you blocked it. You're better than I thought."

Ryu: "Hmph."

Ryu counterattacked. However, Wald blocked it with a relaxed expression.

Their swords clashed several times.

But Ryu's attacks gradually increased in speed. As a result, Wald began to lag behind, and eventually, he was on the defensive.

Wald's face gradually turned pale.

Wald: "Wh-what is this?! Were you holding back earlier?!"

He wouldn't be showing his true strength against someone like Rodan…

Wald had managed to block Ryu's attacks, but he couldn't keep up with Ryu's ever-increasing speed. Ryu parried Wald's sword, knocking it away.

Ryu pointed his sword at Wald.

Duke: "Wald! What are you doing?!"

Ryu: "Want to try again?"

Wald: "Damn it!"

Wald picked up his sword from the floor and charged at Ryujeen again.

But Ryu's speed had increased even more.

Wald couldn't keep up with him anymore. Every time he swung his sword, it was parried, and Ryu would point his sword at him.

Ryu's speed continued to increase until Wald completely lost sight of him.

When he came to his senses, he found himself kneeling, his arms severed, and a sword pointed at his throat.

Rodan: "I can't believe it... Wald lost…"

Duke: "Was it really true… that the Sword Saint lost?"

Ryu healed Wald's body as well.

Wald: "Ryujeen, is it? Can you adjust your speed…"

Ryu: "To be honest, Wald, your skills are far from that of Reynard. Reynard could have fought evenly with you at that earlier speed. You want to be a Sword Saint, but you still have a lot to learn."

Hearing this, Wald slumped, his shoulders sinking.
