Chapter 116: The End of Prince Harris

"Ryujin... you're alive." (What is Gil doing!? He bragged about taking care of things “properly”!)

"You sent the royal knights to capture me, hired adventurers to attack me, and even staged that ridiculous trial. Was it all you?"

"Hmph, your illusions no longer work on me. I'm wearing magic tools that prevent status ailments!"

"You still think it's an illusion..."

At that moment, some of Harris' private knights began to retreat.

"I see a familiar face. I said I'd kill you if you ever became my enemy again."

"U-uh, I don't intend to be your enemy."

Aiga exchanged glances with Galteo and Mashu. In the next instant, the three of them fled the room like rabbits.

Harris was taken aback.

Aiga and the others had already realized that Ryujin's attacks were not illusions. Seeing Ryujin appear, they judged that Harris and his private knights had no chance of winning and chose to abandon them.

Harris' knights were a group of people bound together by money and power. None of them had the loyalty to serve Harris with their lives. Aiga and the others, who followed Harris out of concern for their own families, had no reason to stay on a sinking ship if Harris was going to lose.

It was a close call, but their decision to abandon Harris divided their fates. Aiga and the others survived, while Harris was left to walk the path towards his own destruction.

Unlike Aiga and the others, who had correctly recognized Ryujin's strength, Harris couldn't bring himself to accept it. He couldn't maintain his mental stability if he acknowledged Ryujin's power as anything but an illusion. The experience of being killed with a spear through his heart was a deeply traumatic one for him.

In truth, Harris subconsciously understood Ryujin's strength. It was precisely because he saw Ryujin as a threat to his ambition that he consulted with Gil to try to eliminate him, even if it meant using underhanded methods.

Watching Aiga and the others flee, Harris muttered,

"Those cowards... afraid of a little illusion. Once I become king, I'll have them hunted down and executed."

"You're not going to be king."

"You think you can stop me? I told you, illusions don't work on me anymore."

He must have been wearing several magic tools to prevent status ailments. He was clearly very wary of Ryujin's illusions.

"Fools need to learn with their bodies."

In that instant, Harris' arm fell to the floor.

The pain came a moment later, causing Harris to frantically grab his arm. But there was nothing there, only a torrent of blood gushing out.

"This time, I won't heal you. Enjoy the pain."

"N-no... it wasn't an illusion?! My arm, my arm... What are you doing?!"

Harris' private knights surrounded Ryujin. Harris wanted them to treat his injury, but they were ignoring him.

The knights charged at Ryujin...

... But they were all decapitated before they could even reach him. The remaining knights slowly collapsed. Harris' private knight force was completely wiped out in an instant.

Blood spurted out from the severed necks, turning the throne room into a sea of red. The nobles present were thrown into a panic.

Meanwhile, Harris managed to reconnect his severed arm. He must have had some very expensive healing potions, either because he was a prince or due to Chagamga's funds.

But as Harris finished the treatment, he realized that he was completely alone.

"You... you bastards... I won't forget this...!"

Suddenly, Harris turned his back on Ryujin and ran towards the exit.

But Ryujin wasn't going to let him escape. He activated his teleportation magic. However, he didn't teleport himself; he teleported Harris.

Harris thought he had escaped through the door, but he was teleported back inside the room. He appeared facing 180 degrees in the opposite direction, running directly towards Ryujin.

Realizing this, Harris frantically stopped in front of Ryujin and turned around to run again. But no matter how he ran, he kept getting teleported back to Ryujin.

"Damn it..."

Finally giving up on escape, Harris, in a fit of desperation, lunged at Ryujin. In the next instant, Ryujin had severed both his arms again and pierced his chest with his sword.

He had been healed quickly by Ryujin's magic before, but this time, he wasn't going to be healed.

"How did this happen..."

With a faint whisper, Harris' life came to an end.

Even though Ryujin had killed the prince of this country, neither the king nor Sophie blamed him. He had tried to overthrow the king and kill him, so it was only natural.

"My foolish brother..."

At that moment, the nobles in the room frantically tried to escape, rushing towards the exit.

However, Ryujin teleported to the doorway and blocked their path.

"What should I do with these guys? Should I kill them all?"

"Aaaah!"

The nobles screamed.

"Your Majesty, please forgive us!"

"I was deceived!"

"I was against it! But I was threatened!"

They rushed to their knees before the king, begging for mercy and making excuses.

And the king's verdict was...

By the way, where is Gil...?
