Lying on my back on the bedroom floor, I held Snow, who was sleeping on top of me, to keep her from falling.
If she was going to sleep anyway, maybe it would be better to move her to the bed.
But... her skin, so damp it felt as if we were melting together, clinging to me without any resistance or sense of strangeness... wouldn't let me.
For just a little longer, like this with her...
I want to stay close... without moving, without separating.
In the twilight, Coai remained, holding her.
How much time had passed like that?
Sometime before morning came, a groan mixed with her sleeping breaths.
"Ughh..."
When I noticed, her skin had become even stickier... to the point where it actually felt strange.
It was as if the intensified pull was creating friction, resistance... a reminder that her skin was separate from Coai's, that they hadn't completely blended.
"Oh no, I feel sick..."
A hoarse voice, completely different from her usual self, that stirred a sense of unease.
Coai, feeling anxious at the sound of her voice coming from her shoulder, couldn't help but look.
Still lying on top of Coai, she had sweat beading on her forehead and was letting out pained groans.
"Are you all right, Snow?"
"Ngh... maybe not..."
She had probably drunk too much, but her breaths were weaker than when she usually passed out drunk.
If it were like usual, I could just give her some water, let her rest, and watch over her for a while, and she'd be fine.
But today, neither her words nor her breaths... seemed to be fine at all.
