In the end, for about three days... I didn't take a single step out of the castle.
I wonder if this is really okay, but... if this is what she wanted, then I suppose I should accept it.
When I woke up, I saw Snow's sleeping face right in front of me.
Her eyelids were shut tight, yet her lips were half-open.
From her half-open red lips, a trail of drool was about to fall.
Finding her sleeping face adorable, Coai reflected on their seclusion these past few days.
Even when I reflected on it calmly, deep down in my heart, I felt there was no problem... and that's the conclusion I came to.
She's sleeping soundly. No matter what I reflect on in my mind... I must not move my body.
I mustn't wake her with my movements. As always, I kept that one thing firmly in mind.
Now then, her sleeping face was in front of me... and below that, my hand... I could feel it touching something that seemed to be her skin.
Lowering my gaze slightly, I saw that we were both holding out our hands.
It seemed we had fallen asleep facing each other, holding hands.
Were our bodies apart because it was hot last night?
The other day, I had let her get chilly. She didn't seem to have caught a cold, so I was relieved on that point.
Just as I thought that, a spring-like breeze, reminiscent of cheerful weather, blew between us.
Today, I probably won't have to worry about that.
Feeling the warmth of her hand, even clearer than the warmth of the breeze... Coai returned her gaze to Snow's unmoving, sleeping face.
I continued to gaze at her sleeping form for a long time... The sun rose high, the sunlight gradually shifted westward... and it became late afternoon.
Perhaps tired of sleeping, her eyelids suddenly twitched.
