Having parted with her horse in death, Coai walked slowly but steadily eastward across the grassy plains.

After walking for several hours, just as the great moon rose before her and began to illuminate the surroundings... she realized she should have procured a horse in the city of Merloof.
However, it wasn't certain she could have obtained a horse in the city, and there was also the possibility that remnants of the attackers who had escaped the 'Kouha' (Light Wave) were lurking there.
But more than that... she simply couldn't muster the will to turn back the way she had come.

In her pocket, she carried an ornament for her. In her hand, a bottle of wine for her. In her heart, her feelings for her.

Therefore, no matter how long the journey. She was sure she could keep walking forever.

She walked across grasslands under the moonlight, across wastelands under the sunlight, and across prairies under a starless, cloudy sky…………
On the night of the third day, Coai had reached the edge of a forest... just before a forest path.

At a glance, it was the perfect place for those people to hide among the trees and fire arrows.
Just as Coai suspected, several arrows came flying!

The arrows whistled faintly through the air as they flew toward Coai, and then, as a matter of course, they went astray.
Coai naturally pulled one hand back, as if to shield the wine bottle she held. She used her own body as a shield to protect an item not covered by her magic.

Keeping her hand holding the wine bottle pulled back, Coai moved forward.
Then, a single arrow was shot with a delay, as if it had been waiting for Coai to let her guard down. But it, too, went astray as a matter of course.

Continuing forward, Coai eventually stepped into the forest. But there was no one in sight, only the faint sound of something brushing against the grass and trees.
