Starting with this post, we begin a new chapter: 'Anecdotes: Within the Lands Ruled by Humans'.
I hope you will continue to enjoy the story.
Outside, it was the time of year when the cold winter wind blew fallen, withered leaves to and fro, carrying them off to places unknown.
In the stone-paved, indoor corridors that had grown quite chilly... and as night fell, even felt cold, only the flickering flames of the candles serving as light swayed.
Into this scene...
"That was a nice, warm bath~"
In the near-center of the dimly lit corridor, two figures walked side-by-side, faint wisps of steam rising from their bodies.
"Is there enough light? Is it not too dark?"
"Yeah, it's not dark, but... it's a little cold. We'll catch a chill after our bath, so let's hurry, okay?"
Of the two, the shorter one took the other's hand... and stepped slightly ahead.
The slightly taller one, now being led by the hand, felt no cold at all.
Still, if her partner said she was "cold"... she thought she should grant that wish and return to their room quickly.
That was the way the taller one thought.
The two of them came from the castle's bathhouse, went up the stairs, walked down the corridor... and returned to the castle lord's bedchamber.
This place, even after its master changed from a human lord, was still called 'Taras Castle'—Coai's residence.
