Koai was led to the head seat of the great hall and sat down.
Of all the village chiefs gathered, the group on the right seemed to be shrouded in a dark, unsettling atmosphere.
In contrast, the group on the left each bowed to Koai... some while still seated, others going so far as to stand up.

Into the silence, the old man Sodi let out a single cough.

"Her Majesty has defeated the so-called 'Hero' of the humans and has thus returned to the castle. Furthermore, it seems word of Her Majesty's victory has reached the humans as well... The time is right."
Beside Koai, Sodi calmly addressed those gathered in the hall.

"We have defeated the humans' main force. Now that we have won a moderate victory, I believe we should propose a peace treaty."
"Peace treaty"... The moment that word was spoken, a stir went through the group to Koai's right.

"You're not going to subjugate the humans!?"
"That's right, isn't this the perfect chance to take revenge on the humans!"
"I thought for sure I'd be able to settle this grudge while this old man still breathes!"
Several village chiefs seated on the right raised their voices as if to shout, interrupting Sodi's words.

Sodi furrowed his brow, let out a small sigh, and then refuted them.

"That is not the case... Now is the time to make peace. The humans should be made to submit peacefully."

"What!? Are you serious!?"
"So you haven't changed your mind, Lord Sodi."
"Why? We'd like to hear the reason."
The village chiefs seated together on the right side were making their dissatisfaction blatantly clear.
