"To a withering life, farewell... 'Strandbeest'!!"

The small, thin woman facing Koai finished her rather long chant.

A beat after the chant ended, ash-white fragments welled up from the woman's feet and began to gather in one spot.
And before long, it had formed the shape of a giant, four-legged beast.

Koai could sense it. Almost all of the magical power that had been in the woman had been transferred to 'it' without any loss.
This could be inferred from the fact that the blue glow dwelling in the woman's eyes had vanished.

The beast-like, ash-white mass began to move slowly toward Koai.
Its movements were sluggish, but a strong, dense magical power emanated from its form.

For the time being, Koai tried firing a blade of blood toward the slow-moving mass.

At Koai's will, blood shot from her fingertips. It flew toward the monster as a crimson arc and gouged out a part of its body.
However, the empty gap was immediately filled by the ash-white components, and the monster continued to move.

...Not bad at all. With this, perhaps...?
Koai's lips twisted into a smirk, and she quietly approached the monster.

"Huh...?"
To human eyes, Koai's figure appeared far too defenseless.

Ignoring the caster's confusion, the monster, without faltering, captured Koai's body and swallowed her.
