After a brief silence, the two composed themselves and enjoyed their food and drink.
Perhaps because she was a little drunk, Snow didn't bother cutting the food—a piece a bit too large to eat in one bite—and instead took a big bite out of it.
As she did, she seemed to sense something, her eyes widening as she stuffed her cheeks with the food.
"Mph!? Mmm...?"
She let out a sort of groan. However, her expression was bright, and Coai could see she wasn't in any pain or discomfort.
In fact, her wide eyes seemed to sparkle, expressing her delight.
"Did some kind of juice come out? This is delicious!"
She swallowed the chunk, turned her round eyes to Coai, and said as much... and as soon as she did, she took a sip of her drink.
Then, after letting out a breath that seemed tinged with heat, she appeared to be examining the bite mark she had just made.
"Look, look, there's meat inside! It's like I hit the jackpot."
And she turned the cross-section she was examining towards Coai, her eyes narrowing with amusement.
At the sight, Coai's expression softened unconsciously.
After a moment's pause, Coai became aware of it, and a gentle warmth spread through their chest.
"Could it be that the big ones are like meat buns or something similar?"
Coai silently focused on that feeling, as if savoring it.
"Hey, hellooo..."
At the edge of Coai's consciousness, she was waving her hand.
"Hey, what's the deal? Tell me!"
Her question pulled Coai back to reality.
The staff member who had been pouring their drinks had already returned to the back of the shop. This meant she was undoubtedly asking Coai.
"Are the big ones basically all wrapped around some kind of filling?"
"Ah, ah... I'm sorry. That is..."
But Coai couldn't remember. About this dish they had eaten before.
At that time, they had felt it wasn't unpleasant... but at the very least, the Coai of that time couldn't really tell the difference between good and bad food.
They had simply thought to keep this dish in mind for some reason.
They didn't remember the details... or rather, they hadn't consciously tried to learn more about the dish.
