Silence.
Snow, who should have answered, and Coai, who was waiting for an answer, both said nothing.
Not a single sound... disturbed the still, quiet air of the bedroom in the slightest.
But at least within Coai... the pounding that had been shaking her whole body from the depths of her chest began to gradually subside.
She fell into thought, wondering why she wasn't getting a response. Had she said something wrong?
That gradually quieted the beating of her heart.
Conversely, the trembling in her hands grew more intense.
The bedroom was silent.
Coai pondered whether she had misspoken, worrying... but eventually, she couldn't bear it any longer.
The faint sound of a water droplet falling from Coai's body into the basin, a sound that barely trembled the air, broke the room's silence.
"U-Um..."
"Er..."
However, hearing a voice speak at almost the same time as her, she stopped talking for a moment.
Perhaps Snow, too, had been unable to bear the silence.
Coai paused for a moment, and after confirming she couldn't hear the other's voice, she began to speak again.
"Did I say something... unpleasant?"
"Huh? No, not at all."
Despite Coai's worry, she said she didn't mind at all.
But as she said this, she took her hand away from Coai. Coai felt it clearly.
More than her seemingly straightforward words, the fact that she had pulled away... evoked a sense of coldness and loneliness.
