Unable to sleep until dawn, Koai left the house around the time it had grown bright outside.

"G-Good morning! Koai-sama!"
As she opened the door, she heard a young man's voice.
The young man seemed to be in quite high spirits for so early in the morning.

"To be waiting in front of the gate... did something happen?"
"Ah, no, I just thought I should greet you first..."
"...I see."
Now that he mentioned it, the young man didn't seem particularly flustered.
In that case, it seemed there was no reason for him to be waiting at the gate, but... Koai didn't say anything.

"Wha... Wow..."

Noticing another, small voice, she saw a woman with long, flowing hair standing by about ten steps behind the young man. From her appearance, she seemed to be the female mage who had caused a commotion by falling from the roof last night.
Her bangs hung over her face like a thin veil, hiding her eyes. She also had her hands clasped in front of her face, obscuring her mouth.
Her face and body seemed to be turned this way, but her gaze and expression were hidden.

"Hey, Kachau, you wanted to meet Koai-sama, right? You should at least greet her yourself."
The young man turned and prompted the woman to offer her greetings.

"H-huh!? ... U-um, Your Majesty, c-congratula— no, that's not right, g-good morning, Your Majesty!"
The woman looked startled and lowered her hands, but she spoke without stepping any closer. Her rapid-fire words were completely incoherent.

"...Ah."
Koai didn't feel particularly inclined to question any of it.
As for the woman, she brought her hands back to her mouth the moment she heard Koai's reply.

"My apologies, Koai-sama... For now, please come to the village chief's house."

Koai decided to head to the village chief's house with the young man.
