Starting the day after his revenge on Nakazato and the others, Shuto was suspended for a week. Class 2-A was also closed for three days. Nakazato and the others were diagnosed with injuries requiring about six months to heal, and the lost eyes were deemed irreplaceable. Itakura’s facial injuries were estimated to take three months to heal.
During his suspension, Shuto spent his time renovating his otherworld house and training by fighting monsters.
Concerned about the basement, Shoji reinforced the door's lock to prevent rats or other pests from entering. Shuto, however, simply used his Earth magic to create a key to open and close it as usual.
The week passed quickly, and Shuto returned to school, this time warping there instantly using "Spatial Transfer". As he passed through the school gates, attracting attention as usual, he made eye contact with the guidance counselor, who paled and quickly looked away. Shuto proceeded to his locker.
Several students stood there, holding trash and pieces of paper. Shuto felt a surge of murderous intent.
“So, it was you trash who did this.”
The students turned around in surprise. They only knew Shuto from before his transformation and didn't recognize him.
"You saved me the trouble of searching. I guess I’ll have my revenge right now."
Shuto used "Spatial Transfer" to move the students to a different dimension. Here, he could take his revenge undisturbed and with plenty of time.
"Wh-where is this…!?" "What’s going on!?" "U-uwaaaah…!?"
The suddenly transported students panicked. Shuto, giving them no time to think, grabbed the nearest student and slammed him to the ground.
Crack! "Guh!?"
"You guys…you're the ones who messed with my locker and shoes last week, right? You're early. I didn't think you'd try something so brazen. Thanks to that, I can now have my revenge!"
Shuto gave in to his instincts and emotions, brutalizing the students until they were barely clinging to life.
"A…gh…" "Help…" "Why…is this…"
Shuto grabs one student by the hair, forcing him to look up.
"You guys are fans of that bitch, aren't you? You believed her and Nakazato's lie about me being a stalker, and decided to bully me?
Cowards who can't even confront me directly. Satisfied with your cowardly attacks from a safe distance?"
"You…devil…! How dare you hurt Itakura-san!"
"That Itakura was the one who slandered me first! That’s why I got revenge! What, you think you did nothing wrong? Believing a false rumor and acting like self-righteous heroes punishing me?
You disgust me, you pieces of trash!"
Enraged, Shuto rips out the students' fingernails and teeth. He laughs coldly at their screams of agony, continuing his brutal assault.
After leaving the battered students on the rooftop, Shuto heads to his classroom. On the second floor, he notices something different. The other students are avoiding him.
They look at him with surprise, whispering among themselves, keeping their distance. They look at him with a mixture of fear and revulsion.
The second-year students know about last week's incident. They know Shuto has become monstrously strong, and that he sent Nakazato and Itakura to the hospital.
"Ugh…"
Shuto doesn’t understand their thoughts and feelings, only that they're negative.
Entering the classroom quickly to avoid their stares, he’s met with the same hostility.
"………………………………"
Fear and discomfort dominate the classroom, all directed at Shuto. As he walks to his desk, they steal glances at him, quickly averting their gaze.
Only Akemi shows no such fear or aversion, hesitating about how to approach him.
(After that rampage, I guess this is to be expected. Even though I knew, it's still annoying.)
Shuto puts his feet up on his desk, sighing dramatically.
"What’s with you guys? Staring at me like that. If you have something to say, say it."
A male student, one of the high-ranking ones who had laughed at the bullying, approaches Shuto.
"Wh-why…are you here…? After what you did…"
"Huh? Why? My suspension is over, so I’m back at school."
"What…? You…murderer…"
"I didn’t kill anyone. Half-killed, maybe."
Shuto scoffs at the student’s accusation. Whispers erupt around the room.
"Was it necessary to hurt them that much…?" "That was too far…" "Is he really going to attend class like this…?" "This is the worst…" "I can't focus on class with him here…"
Just as Shuto is about to lose his temper at the whispers, the male student shouts.
"Get out!"
The student, though trembling, glares at Shuto. He’s voicing what most of the class is thinking.
However, it isn't an act of courage, but of fear. He’s on the verge of panic, terrified of Shuto, desperate for him to leave.
"Huh, what nonsense…?"
Shuto, scoffing, looks around and notices that his classmates are glaring at him with a unified animosity. It feels like a heavy weight pressing down on him.
"Huh? What’s with those looks?"
Shuto is infuriated by their expressions and their accusations. Despite his newfound power, he's still unable to handle gossip. His emotional maturity hasn’t caught up with his physical growth.
(Ignoring and laughing at my suffering…what are they thinking? Nakazato and the others were clearly in the wrong, why am I the one being ostracized?
Ganging up on me now…their hypocrisy knows no bounds…!)
A destructive urge rises within Shuto.
(They don’t truly know what Nakazato and Itakura are like…Only I do. I was unjustly bullied by them. But for the others, it's someone else’s problem. They can’t understand. So, they condemn me…!)
Shuto understands the logic, but his emotions won't let him forgive them.
I’ll start by breaking this guy in front of me. Shuto stands up and glares at the male student, who pales and collapses onto the floor.
"Shuto-kun, don't…!"
Akemi rushes in front of Shuto, grabbing his arm.
"Hanamiya, whose side are you on? Mine, or these pieces of trash?"
"I…I don’t want you and everyone to be enemies…"
"Enemies? Of course we're enemies. Trash who ignores bullying and laughs at others' suffering are my enemies.
All of them are my enemies!"
"…!"
Akemi flinches and freezes, loosening her grip on Shuto’s arm. She looks at him with sadness.
"What? You still believe we can all be friends? We’re way past that. Our relationship is beyond repair."
Akemi is speechless. She knows that Shuto can no longer be friends with his classmates.
"If…if only I had done something sooner about the bullying…"
"I wouldn’t expect that from someone as powerless as you. At least you’re not one of the trash, that much I know."
After glancing disdainfully at the student still cowering on the floor, Shuto sits down without further action. His classmates see him as a ticking time bomb, living in constant fear.
Then, their salvation arrives: the vice-principal comes to call Shuto.
"Come to the principal's office immediately."
After the vice-principal leaves, Shuto takes his bag and follows.
(I don’t belong here anymore…)
He has completely given up on his classmates. He glances coldly at the saddened Akemi and leaves the classroom.
“Day after day…you mocked and despised me. The sadness and anger I felt at your abandonment are gone.
I feel nothing but disgust for you. You all deserve to die.”
This is the last time Akemi and the other students of 2-A will see Shuto in the classroom. Later, they will all learn that they will never see him there again.
