—Various Phenomena and Facts Regarding the Otherworld—
The only way to travel to the otherworld is through the black vortex in the basement of Mitsuki Shuto's house. No similar black vortex exists anywhere else in the real world; currently, only one exists.
—The mysterious black vortex leading to the otherworld is unique to Shuto's house; there are no identical ones anywhere else in Japan or the world. It is a one-of-a-kind existence.
The destination in the otherworld is random each time, unpredictable to anyone.
—Even Shuto's skill, "Near-Future Prediction," cannot foresee the destination.
To return to the real world, one must enter the black vortex in the otherworld and proceed through it. The return point will always be the basement of Mitsuki's house.
The civilizations of the otherworld and the real world are vastly different. The otherworld lacks modern technology and science.
—Instead of trains and buses, there are horse-drawn carriages. Instead of electric lights, they use oil lamps. The civilization of the otherworld is closer to that of a medieval real world. Naturally, there are no electric or gas companies in the otherworld.
Regardless of how much time is spent in the otherworld, the passage of time in the real world remains almost unchanged. Conversely, no matter how much time is spent in the real world, the passage of time in the otherworld remains almost unchanged.
—"Almost unchanged" doesn't mean "completely unchanged." As Shuto travels between the two worlds repeatedly, the passage of time in the absent world may progress in the future.
Items obtained or created in the otherworld cannot be brought back to the real world. Anything brought from the otherworld to the real world disappears. This applies even if it's in a bottle; only the bottle will vanish. Items created with the skill "Creation" are the same, including clothing and equipment; all disappear upon entering the real world. This also applies to people from the otherworld.
In short, there are no recorded instances of people or objects originating from the otherworld transferring to the real world.
Conversely, people and objects from the real world can transfer to the otherworld without disappearing upon return.
—Furniture bought from a home improvement store, groceries from the supermarket, even modern weapons like handguns and grenades can all be brought to the otherworld. Naturally, other people besides Shuto can transfer to the otherworld.
Many dangerous creatures called monsters exist in the otherworld. Relatively safe small animals like dogs and cats in the real world are near extinction due to these monsters and are rarely seen.
Monsters have unusual appearances and higher intelligence than any animal in the real world. Most monsters are aggressive, but docile ones, like the Heal Frog, also exist.
Monsters are classified by danger level and strength. Goblins, Red Dogs, and small slimes are considered beginner monsters—suitable for novice mercenaries and freelance warriors. There are also intermediate monsters like Hobgoblins and Blood Wolves, and advanced monsters like Ogres.
—One intermediate monster is a match for three soldiers or five veteran mercenaries. One advanced monster requires about ten soldiers or 10-15 veteran mercenaries.
While monster ranks generally go up to Advanced, there have been reports of exceptionally powerful monsters that surpass even the strongest Advanced monsters. Only a handful of people worldwide know the details.
