It was true that Ryu had used teleportation in front of Harris...
Although Ryu thought to himself, "Maybe it would have been fine if he hadn't seen it," it was a foolish thought.
Thinking calmly, people had suddenly appeared in front of them. Even if the prince hadn't seen it, there must have been many knights who witnessed it. It was only a matter of time before someone noticed. Ryu quickly gave up and switched gears.
Moreover, Ryu had been teleporting in front of people quite nonchalantly. Even if he didn't want the royal family to know, it was only a matter of time before his ability became known to the public and eventually reached the palace.
Sophie: "With teleportation magic, everything in war changes. You could even make an army appear behind the enemy. Don't you think it's beneficial to keep such a person within the palace, so they don't become an enemy?"
Harris: "Y-yes, if teleportation magic is real, it would be beneficial to the country... If it's real, that is."
Sophie: "It's real. You saw it with your own eyes. We came out of the dungeon using Ryu's teleportation."
Harris: "E-even if it is, that doesn't mean you have to marry him, does it?"
Harris (facing Ryu): "Hey you. I'll find a suitable marriage partner for you in the capital. Give up on Sophie."
Ryu: "No, I don't have any intention of marrying Sophie..."
Harris: "What?! Are you saying Sophie is not attractive? That's disrespectful!!"
Ryu (This guy is a pain...)
Sophie: "No, I like Ryu! Of course, I respect Ryu's feelings. I'm going to take my time and make sure Ryu understands my charms. So, I can't go back to the palace yet."
Sophie hung on to Ryu.
Seeing this, Harris flew into a rage.
Harris: "You, how dare you touch Sophie! It's disrespectful!! Get away from her!!"
Ryu: "No, Sophie's the one clinging to me..."
He knew, but it made Harris even more annoyed.
(Does Sophie like this man? This unknown commoner? I can't accept that. In that case... If I defeat this man and show her that he's weak, Sophie will reconsider. And she'll fall for my strength! That's it, that's the plan!)
Harris: "Hey, Ryujiin, was it? I challenge you to a duel! I'll personally prove whether or not you're worthy of Sophie."
Ryu: "What's with the sudden challenge? Why do I have to duel? What are you even saying...? You..."
Sophie: "So, if Ryu wins, you'll allow the marriage?"
Harris: "I won't. I'm saying I'll prove that this man is not worthy of you! Come on, fight me honorably and get killed by my blade!"
Ryu: "I've told you, I have no intention of marrying her..."
A knight nearby sadly spoke...
Knight A: "...The will of a commoner like you doesn't matter... It's a pity, but give up."
Sophie looked excited and urged Ryu to go for it. Apparently, the princess and prince were both being stubborn, and the knights were at their wits' end.
Ryu shrugged, exasperated.
(Scene Change)
Prince Harris drew his sword.
But seeing Ryu unarmed, he told one of his knights to lend Ryu a sword.
Ryu always kept all of his swords in his spatial dimension, so he seemed to be unarmed. His usual magical sword, Furagarahha, was also in his spatial dimension, but he didn't want to use it for this, so he borrowed a normal sword from the knight.
(Ryu thought to himself, "I should buy some ordinary swords next time.")
Ryu and Harris stood facing each other, swords drawn.
Harris attacked Ryu, beginning their duel.
(Scene Change)
Ryu and Harris clashed fiercely.
Prince Harris had received a rigorous education in both academics and combat skills since childhood, and his swordsmanship was quite impressive. He was undoubtedly a top-level swordsman compared to the knights of the Royal Knights.
But that wasn't enough to defeat Ryu.
At first, Ryu had held back his space-time magic, adjusting to his opponent. With Ryu's reflexes and strength, he could easily fight Harris on equal footing even without space-time magic, despite his own swordsmanship not being quite as good as a sword master's.
Conversely, it could be said that Harris' swordsmanship was also at a considerable level, since he was able to fight Ryu on equal footing.
Ryu observed the situation for a dozen exchanges before he decided to stop holding back and gradually increased his speed.
Earlier, Harris said it was a misunderstanding that Aiga and the others attacked Ryu. It was possible that Aiga and the others were so careless that it was actually a misunderstanding.
However, regardless of the objective truth, Ryu could see what Harris truly thought by looking into his heart.
Ryu's eyes, normally golden when he was in the dungeon (divine eye activated), remained the same even after he left.
Of course, Ryu could read Harris' mind and knew that Harris had ordered him to kill Ryu.
Ryu had no intention of easily forgiving someone who tried to kill him.
(Scene Change)
Ryu's movements began to accelerate due to his space-time magic. Soon, Ryu overwhelmed Harris. By the time Ryu's speed reached three times Harris', the prince could no longer cope, and his arm was cut off.
Ryu then swung his sword again, severing his other arm.
"Ugh... My arm...!"
"Brother!"
"Your Highness!!"
But it wasn't over yet. Ryu's sword, having cut off both of his arms, continued its trajectory, thrust straight at Harris' chest.
Ryu: "It's over."
Ryu plunged his sword through Harris' chest.
(Scene Change)
Harris fell, pierced through the heart.
Sophie: "Brother!!"
Sophie rushed towards Harris in a panic. The prince had some personality issues, but he was still a kind brother to her. Even though she told Ryu to go for it, she hadn't expected him to actually kill him.
Sophie glared at Ryu, unable to help herself.
"Ryu!! You didn't have to kill him?!"
