Leaving the castle city of Doit in the southwestern part of the Emile territory, she proceeded along a gentle road heading roughly north-northeast.
As she leisurely walked with the sunlight at her back... she noticed that the road was wider and more well-maintained than the one she had taken from Delsu to Doit.
Considering the number of people she had seen in each town and the surrounding terrain, this was probably a natural development... but Koai held no particular interest in that fact.
She only thought that it was too flat to be a landscape worth showing to Snow...
Then... a cloud of dust rose before her eyes, followed by the rumbling sound and vibrations of several passing carts.
Unlike Koai's cart, which only made a light clattering sound that barely mixed with the clip-clop of hooves... these carts, apparently laden with a great deal of cargo, rolled by with a heavy, rattling vibration.
As they passed, some drivers turned to look at Koai, while others went on their way without seeming to pay her any mind. Behind these drivers, with the exception of one cart carrying several people, the wagons were densely packed with various goods: barrels, jars, and something covered in cloth.
They were likely the carts of merchants transporting goods from Argun to Doit.
The bustling traffic of carts... probably indicated a dense flow of goods between the castle cities connected by the road.
However, Koai wasn't particularly conscious of that aspect. Rather, she was concerned about the length of her journey, thinking that on such a busy road... it would be difficult to use that spiritual medicine that made the horse run wild.
But, she wasn't with Snow right now. So there was no particular reason to hurry... she revised her thoughts.
Separate from that thought, she recalled one point of concern.
Previously, when Koai had traveled from Delsu to Argun... she had been attacked by humans.
They were apparently an assassination squad belonging to a religious order that spreads the teachings and faith of a goddess worshipped by humans. She had heard such stories in the taverns of Argun and the inns of Delsu.
