Two chairs faced each other across a table. The space behind one of them was slightly open.
Koai turned her chair to face that direction, then sat down.
That space was a place to welcome her... and it was more than wide enough.
Koai let out a single, slightly hot breath, then had an idea and returned to the cart. She took out a piece of cloth and spread it on the ground in front of the chair.
Having done that, Koai noticed something else. She envisioned earth and metal, and a point slightly ahead in her vision, and began to chant.
"If you are to encircle, you must be an impenetrable iron wall..."
"Wall of black steel, a perfect fortress—'Karnain'!"
With a roar, a massive stone wall rose up, enclosing the area where Koai was in a circle.
So that no uninvited guests could slip in there.
The risk was probably not great... in fact, it was likely an infinitesimally small possibility.
In reality, she had never experienced any foreign matter contamination during a summoning.
She had never even witnessed such an instance during a summoning or teleportation.
Still, she prepared for the one-in-a-million chance.
She would never let anything touch her. Any conceivable harm.
There was no one beside Koai.
In truth, that was no different from before 'Karnain'. But now, there was no anxiety either.
