For now, it was a bedroom without her.
Waking up alone, the room was dimly lit.
Koai sat up and glanced at the window, seeing the eastern sky beginning to brighten.
The east was brightening, meaning it was just before dawn. There was no need to rush. She could wait for morning before making a move.
Once the sun rose, she would finish her business... and then, she would slowly, summon her...
Koai imagined Snow's presence and let out a faint sound... then lay back down and closed her eyes.
She woke again before sunset and was about to leave the bedroom to look for the old man, Sody, when she noticed the magical tool on the desk.
Akudo, whom she had parted with in the southernmost village, had probably not returned here yet... but perhaps someone else in charge of the magical tool would come to take her request.
If so, it would be more efficient to call for someone and wait in the bedroom rather than wandering the castle alone.
With that in mind, Koai picked up the disc-shaped magical tool and pressed the middle protrusion on its edge with her finger.
Immediately feeling the flow of magical power from her fingertip into the tool, Koai decided to wait in the bedroom for a while...
"Your Majesty, Your Majesty... did you call for me?"
A hoarse voice came from outside, accompanied by the sound of knocking on the door.
That hoarse voice and the light sound of a gentle knock on the door signified Sody's arrival.
"You may enter."
Koai replied, moving to sit down at the table for the time being.
"First of all, welcome back. I am relieved to see you are safe."
Sody stopped just a step inside the doorway and bowed.
"Whether I am safe or not is irrelevant. More importantly, I have a request. Take a seat."
No emergency or disaster could befall Koai. Sody must have understood that by now, yet he still spoke with such formal reverence.
Feeling a slight irritation, Koai pushed it aside and prepared to state her business.
"Whatever Your Majesty wishes... If this is to be a long discussion, shall I have some light refreshments prepared?"
"Do as you please. I do not require any yet."
She didn't know if the conversation would be long, but she could leave such matters to him.
