A lone rider gallops across the open plains. There is no one to hinder them.
It's been a while since I've seen the scenery from horseback. But my mind isn't on it.
It's completely different from the other day when I walked through the forest on foot.
The height of my gaze, the presence of my surroundings, the speed at which they all flow by.
But the consciousness of the one on horseback... Koai's consciousness, is not directed towards them.
A lone rider gallops across the open plains. There is no one to reproach them.
There is no one to be hindered, no one to be reproached, there.
Koai left the village near the forest... a village located at the southern tip of the Tabris territory, proceeded northeast for about half a day, and then turned her course to the east.
Now, all that's left is to press on single-mindedly... until I hit a river, or if I'm lucky, come out near a bridge and reach the Great Forest... eastward.
What I must be careful about is letting the horse rest so it doesn't get thirsty. When I see a watering hole nearby, I must make every effort to stop.
That's about it.
This time, I don't have that... that spiritual medicine that invigorates a horse's mind and body. The ride will take a little longer than usual.
Perhaps because I've gotten used to using that spiritual medicine, the longer travel time is a bit bothersome... but it's not a major problem.
The moon rises slightly to my right, then moves off to the right.
The moonlight gently illuminates my back, and then eventually fades.
If the moon has set in the west, then dawn must be near.
In that case, it's about time to turn east... and press on.
The horizon ahead is turning white; it seems to be dawn.
The whole sky has brightened; it seems it will be clear today as well.
The morning sun appeared in my line of sight; the light is dazzling again today.
