Summary of the previous chapter
The group that attacked Coai and Grand Duke Federico of Angell during their secret meeting for peace between humans and elves were those guided by the "Voice of God"... humans and their collaborators who schemed to continue the conflict.
While protecting the Grand Duke and the elven leader Sodi, who were also present at the meeting, Coai repelled the group of humans.
All the while feeling a strong sense of displeasure at their wickedness, and that of the being they called God...
"I've driven off the enemy soldiers."
After confirming there was no one moving near the tent, Coai entered.
Inside the tent, the Grand Duke was laid out on a table. He appeared calmer than when Coai had left, at least.
"Driven them off? You didn't kill them?"
As if to prove the point, the large man's low voice made a light-hearted jab.
"I killed most of them, but I have a feeling the ones who seemed to be the ringleaders got away."
