Now alone, Koai sat up, deciding to look into the "dress" she had heard about from Snow.
First, within the castle, she ran into Sodi and Akudo having breakfast and decided to ask them.
"A dress...?"
"Hmm, what exactly is that?"
It seemed the word "dress" meant almost nothing to the two of them.
"It's apparently a pure white, special-occasion outfit that women wear. Do you know anything about it?"
Seeing their confused looks, Koai added an explanation.
"Is it different from ceremonial wear...? No, if it's pure white, I suppose it must be different..."
"Hmm, among the ceremonial wear of the Elves, or other expensive attire... there is nothing that is purely white. In that case, could it be human attire?"
"Yes, I think so. You two don't know either?"
It seemed that not only the two of them, but the Elves in general were unfamiliar with it.
"Hmm... My apologies. I can't recall anything like that, even among fabrics for humans."
"I don't think I've ever seen humans in town wearing anything like that either."
Even these two, who should have been more knowledgeable about human customs than Koai—or anyone else among the Elves, for that matter—seemed to have not the slightest clue.
"I see. Then never mind."
"Sorry, Ki... Your Majesty."
If even Lord Sodi and Akudo didn't know... it seemed she wouldn't be able to get any useful information here.
Maybe I'll ask her in detail the next time we meet.
"Your Majesty, if you don't mind... shall I ask about it when I write to the merchants we trade with or to His Highness the Grand Duke?"
"That would be fine."
Koai returned to her bedroom, flopped onto the bed where the faint warmth of the other girl still lingered... and decided to sleep for a little while.
Falling asleep enveloped in her lingering scent was incredibly pleasant.
