"Hmph, so you've come after all. I had a feeling you would."
The Grand Duke, seeming to have noticed Coi's presence, called out to her.
"You may be crude, but you are by no means despicable... In fact, you are more dutiful than most."
The Grand Duke advanced on his horse while looking at Coi, drawing closer.
"If you foresaw this, why are you here? Did you not consider taking the opportunity to attack my castle?"
Coi did not particularly like this man—the Grand Duke. This man who spoke at length about elusive topics, with an attitude that suggested he wasn't very wary of Coi.
And yet, he didn't make her feel so uncomfortable that she wanted to kill him... to silence him by force right away.
"Hmm, there is some logic to that attack. But upon careful consideration... it cannot be called a victory for me."
The Grand Duke replied as he urged his horse forward, his stern face holding a calm expression.
About a dozen paces from Coi, the Grand Duke halted his horse. The other rider accompanying him saw this and, with a slightly unpracticed air, stopped his own horse and held back.
