"You wish to fight me, is that what you're saying?"
It had been a long time since she had received such an offer.
"If you would be so kind, for the sake of our pride."
"As long as you can entertain me, I don't mind."
If they could entertain her, she would even be delighted...
With a battle fulfilling enough to make up for the days without her... if they could entertain her.
Koai felt a little happy.
"Hey, hold on a second."
The large man, Akudo, interjected.
"What is it?"
"I hate to be suspicious, but... there's a chance you're using a tactic where a separate unit attacks from the west while you're fighting us. It's dangerous."
"That is a very valid point, but we would not resort to such a stratagem."
The knight turned to face Akudo, speaking to him with a direct gaze.
"We have no intention of seizing this land; we simply wish to avenge our defeat... That said, we have no proof. We can only ask that you somehow believe we are not cunning liars."
The knight did not waver in the slightest from his refreshingly frank demeanor.
Perhaps Koai, seeing that posture, expected to see the strong spirit of a warrior.
