Chapter 51: I Decided From the Start

"Bring out the principal! I'll beat him up!" "All the teachers should resign!" "This school should be shut down!" "Rotten, elitist garbage!" "Don't forgive a school that tolerates bullying!" "Why did the Ministry of Education allow this disgusting school to exist!?" "Let us in! We'll crush everyone inside!!"

A mob was trying to force their way into Tensho Private Junior High. They were former students, part-timers, unemployed individuals, and their families, relatives, and friends.

Most were former students who’d suffered bullying and other injustices. Inspired by Shuto's live stream, they’d gathered to destroy the school.

These former students had lived miserable lives, even after graduating. Their complaints about bullying and discrimination had been ignored. They carried the scars of their experiences, their hatred for Tensho Junior High still burning.

Shuto was their savior. He’d done what they couldn't. Seeing this as a golden opportunity to crush the exposed school, they’d resorted to rioting.

Most weren't afraid of being arrested, ready to sacrifice their reputations and futures for revenge.

Shuto, watching the scene unfold online from home, was both surprised and amused.

"I never expected a riot! I didn't know there were so many people who hated that crappy school this much…

That school shouldn’t exist. It's a disease…!"

Seeing the mob shouting insults at the school, Shuto felt a thrill, even wishing he could join them.

"But…if they just stay at the gate, the police will arrest them. I want them to cause as much chaos as possible.

So, I’ll give them a little help."

Shuto puts on his fox mask and warps to the school using "Spatial Transfer."

The rioters are startled but then cheer, recognizing the masked boy as the YouTuber SHOT.

"Please keep my presence here a secret. I saw your passion from home and couldn’t just stand by. I’ll help you. Please step back from the gate—"

After the rioters move away, Shuto activates "Super Strength" and delivers a powerful punch to the locked gate.

With a loud crash, the gate crumples and falls. The path to the school is now open.

"Alright, everyone, go wild! Oh, and one request. The students of 2-A are the main bullies, the worst of the school, so…take care of them."

""Ooooooh!!""

The rioters roar their approval and surge into the school grounds, eager to destroy the school and the teachers.

"Pfft…Ahahahaha! This is getting interesting! This is great!!"

Shuto, left alone outside the gate, laughs heartily and then warps to a different dimension to remain hidden. From there, he moves to a deserted part of the school to watch the events unfold.

Soon, shouts and screams echo from within the school, mainly from the staff room. Shuto laughs, imagining the teachers being attacked.

"I can’t believe a single live stream caused this! This is hilarious!"

It all started with Shuto’s expose. Viewers who sympathized with him shared their own stories of bullying, gaining more support. Famous people and YouTubers shared their outrage on social media, spreading the news nationwide and igniting a firestorm of criticism against Tensho Private Junior High, culminating in this large-scale riot.

It was a butterfly effect. Shuto's live stream, a single flap of a butterfly's wings, had created a hurricane of chaos.

"Ahahahaha! Yeah, get destroyed! Be crushed, you crappy junior high!!"

Shuto laughs, raising his hands in the air, alone in an empty classroom.

In the principal's office, Haga, terrified, frantically makes calls, hoping the police will stop the riot. However, there’s no guarantee of their safety even if the police arrive.

"Th-the rioters forced their way into the staff room, attacking the teachers…they’re bleeding…Principal, we’re next…!"

"I know! That’s why I’m calling the police! Hurry up…!!"

Haga and the vice-principal cower in fear, waiting for the police, their shouts and screams betraying their terror. These two men, nearing retirement age, at the top of the school's hierarchy, looked utterly pathetic.

"My, my. How unsightly. Well, I guess this qualifies as a terrorist attack."

"!?"

No one else was supposed to be in the principal's office. Startled by the voice, they look around. Shuto stands in the center of the room, smirking.

"M-Mitsuki…Shuto!?"

"Hello!…or rather, long time no see, you two. Things are getting pretty chaotic, aren't they? All thanks to your actions! Hahaha!"

Shuto mocks them. The vice-principal angrily lunges at Shuto.

"You’re permanently banned from this school! And you dare trespass at a time like this!? Get out!"

"Are you seriously telling me to leave? With a mob about to break in here?"

The vice-principal, though angry, looks at the door nervously.

"…Did you orchestrate all of this!? Mitsuki Shuto…!"

Haga asks, his eyes filled with hatred.

"Me? I did think about destroying this crappy school, but I never ordered the rioters to do this.

They’re acting on their own accord. All I did was tell the world what Tensho Private Junior High is really like. I don’t know anything else!"

"——! That's the same as manipulating them! How dare you bring such disaster upon our school…!"

"Are you sure you should be focusing on me right now? The mob will be here any minute. What are you going to do?"

Haga and the vice-principal fall silent at Shuto’s question, pacing nervously.

"By the way, I came here for two reasons: to see how pathetic you look, and to offer you a way out."

Haga and the vice-principal look at Shuto at his second statement, a flicker of hope in their eyes, despite the fact that their potential savior is the very devil who orchestrated their downfall.

"You probably already know, but I’m not ordinary anymore. I have incredible strength, I can fly, I can shoot fire and lightning from my hands and mouth…I can do the impossible. And I can easily warp you to a safe place."

"I-I don’t care how you got such preposterous powers! You can save us!? Then hurry up and get us out of here…!"

Shuto frowns at Haga’s arrogant tone.

"Huh? Do you understand your situation? First, grovel and apologize. Apologize for ignoring me and covering up the bullying. Then beg me to save your pathetic selves!"

Shuto points at the floor, his eyes filled with contempt. Haga and the vice-principal grit their teeth in anger and humiliation, but eventually, they both prostrate themselves, apologizing to Shuto.

"Mitsuki Shuto…we sincerely apologize for trying to cover up your bullying and for the derogatory remarks we made!"

"Please, at least get us to safety! We’ll apologize as much as you want later, so please!"

Seeing two grown men, four or five times his age, groveling and begging for his help, Shuto feels a sense of complete domination.

At this point, Shuto’s goal is essentially achieved, but his revenge isn't over yet.

"Nope~~~. Why would I help you scum?"

Shuto smiles maliciously, looking down at them.

"!?" "!?"

They look up at him in stunned silence. Shuto opens the door and shouts.

"Hey!! The principal and vice-principal who ignored and discriminated against you are in here!!"

Seconds later, drawn by Shuto’s shout, the sounds of the mob approach the principal's office. Haga, no longer able to shout at Shuto, rushes to the window, attempting to jump from the second-floor room. As the vice-principal tries to follow, Shuto unleashes a lightning spell, paralyzing them both.

"Guh…!?" "Gah…!"

They collapse by the window. Shuto stands over them, smirking.

"I decided from the start…that I’d drag you down to the depths of despair and make you regret everything.

Goodbye, human scum. My revenge ends here, but I'm sure plenty of others hold grudges against you, so good luck☆"

Shuto disappears from the principal's office using "Spatial Transfer."

Seconds later, the mob bursts into the room, their eyes filled with murderous intent as they approach the paralyzed Haga and the vice-principal.

"Ha…st…op…" "Aaaaaah—"

Shouts and screams echo from the principal’s office—

Author's Note

So, what do you think? I tried to depict revenge and a downfall using indirect methods, manipulating public opinion through the internet, without the protagonist resorting to direct violence. I hope it was well-executed. There might be some plot conveniences, but without them, the story wouldn't have progressed smoothly.

The following is a brief explanation and assertion:

While this work primarily focuses on physical retaliation and punishment, it doesn’t mean that revenge is limited to physical methods.

I believe "retaliation/punishment" and "revenge" have different meanings.

"Revenge," in my opinion, is about inflicting pain and suffering on the target, making them think, "I never want to experience this!"

Therefore, to those who point out the lack of direct physical revenge or the indirect approach, I’d say, "Of course. The protagonist aims not only to inflict physical pain but also to break his enemies mentally by doing what they fear most. Therefore, it doesn't deviate from the main theme, and this approach is valid."

The story introduction states that retaliation and punishment will mostly involve physical methods.

Also, I chose this kind of development simply because I wanted to write it this way. Haha.
